My Story

I am an educator with 24 years of experience, having served as a high school English Language Arts teacher across grades 9–12, a middle school principal, and an 8th grade ELA teacher. While my roles have evolved over time, my passion has remained constant: a deep love of teaching and a commitment to fostering a genuine love of learning in every student I serve.

My work is grounded in the belief that rigorous learning should be engaging, accessible, and meaningful. I intentionally design hands-on learning experiences that invite students to actively explore content, think critically, and make connections that extend beyond the classroom. Through the principles of Universal Design for Learning, I create personalized learning environments that honor individual strengths, needs, and interests while maintaining high expectations for all learners.

I am committed to providing students with voice and choice in their learning, empowering them to take ownership and see themselves as capable, confident thinkers. By using student data thoughtfully and intentionally, I tailor instruction to support growth, close gaps, and challenge students to reach their full potential. This balance of structure and flexibility allows me to meet students where they are while pushing them forward academically.

At the heart of my work is the belief that joy and rigor are not separate, but essential partners in powerful instruction. I strive to create a classroom culture where curiosity is encouraged, effort is valued, and students feel both supported and challenged. My goal is to cultivate an environment where students not only achieve at high levels, but also develop a lasting love of learning that extends far beyond my classroom.
